ABOUT US

Established in 2013, the Carlow Dragon Boat Club is a dragon boat club based in Carlow Town, Ireland. Membership of the club is open to women, men and juniors aged 16+. Currently the club has over 45 members who are from Carlow and its surrounding areas. Carlow Dragon Boat Club are members of the Irish Dragon Boat Association, the governing body for the sport in Ireland.

The objects of the Carlow Dragon Boat Club are:

To promote and interest in dragon boat racing and maintain its traditions
To allow the sport to be open to all by encouraging participation from Juniors (16+ accompanied by a guardian), men and women
To encourage a high standard of participation in the sport, through the formation of crews and by racing dragon boats
To offer practical assistance to members by obtaining training facilities, equipment, technical and other information
To promote wellness, fitness, fun and camaraderie for all participants
To raise awareness about lifestyle and health management and to promote the health gains in relation to the sport To support the objectives and aims of the Irish Dragon Boat Racing Association (IDBA) as the sport's governing body
